Daddy's new toy

Due to the awesome Duty free shop in Afghanistan, Tom managed to get a new jeep. Ok, he got one despite no such shop. Here are a few pics. Notice that the weather was really nice. That was last month.

September - start of the new school year

We made it back to London after a great summer vacation. The kids started school and really liked their new classrooms and teachers. Here are a few pics.

Fort Desoto Park

The kids enjoyed Fort Desoto Park. They had fun looking for sand dollars and playing on the old fort cannons. They loved the quad bikes and are looking forward to going back to try them out. They were disappointed that we did not see any Manatees.

Summer activities

We met up with Lorie, Alex and Sidney for play dates. We met and went bowling, the play zone and just hung out.
To avoid the peak sun of the day, we read, and played games. Here are Joe and Ana playing "band."

The Beach

We scoured the beach in the morning or evening for shells. The kids had the best time looking for sand dollars, shells, starfish and just surfing the waves.

Shamu

We were able to spend a lot of time and had pics taken on the Shamu statues.
We stayed at a resort within walking distance of Sea World. The pool was a big hit as it had a waterfall. There were outdoor games, a big chess set and sprinklers that the kids could run through. However, a big hit was the tub!
We walked around Downtown Disney. Joe loved the LEGO section. Anastasia loved the pink princess section.

Sea World

The kids had a great time seeing all the critters, feeding the rays and riding on the mini coasters.

August at Sea World, Orlando FL

The kids, Nana and Didi and I had a blast at Sea World. We saw all the sharks, watched the shows and rode on the rides. We had a bit of rain but great weather overall.

Visiting the Greats!

We saw Great Nana and Great Didi for a few days. We celebrated Nana's big birthday. The kids had a good time hanging out, eating in the cafeteria, and making puzzles.

Summer Break

With Tom in Afghanistan, the kids and I headed home for the summer holidays. We made the circuit visiting family and friends. We had fun swimming and playing tennis in Florida, going to the science center, out for ice cream, shopping, visiting the library, watching movies, walking along the beach, and just enjoying the sun.
We saw Andrew and Sarah and visited Space Camp which was pretty neat, too. We went to the Botanical Garden but had to cut our tour short due to the thunder and lightening. Saying that Anastasia is frightened of such storms is putting it mildly. :)
