Tate Farms

Tom had his annual work picnic at Tate Farms. The kids were so excited. They jumped from the rafters into the hay, naviaged the hay maze, petted the goats, cows, llamas and bunnies in the zoo. They had a great time going in the cotton fields and playing on the equipment. The highlight was the hay ride and picking their own pumpkins. Or it could have been the dessert table, may have beeen a toss up.

Cathederal Caverns

We had a great fall break. We went to the science center, jump zone, and the highlight was the cave. The two mile trek was a bit challenging, but interesting. Joe enjoyed running, jumping, and exploring. Ana was a bit more cautious. She was not too thrilled with the 8 minutes of total darkness to simulate how it would have been when first discovered. Either were about 20 or so other people!

Fall fun

Joe started Flagfootball and is really enjoying it. Ana likes to go along and sit in her fold up chair. Here they are hamming it up after the game. They also took to butterfly chasing. Look closely to see their prize.

Ana started taking dance- jazz, tap and ballet. She is is really liking it and showed off for Daddy.

Charleston Trip

It took about 10 hours to get there, but we made it in time to see the tail end of the hurricane and cousin Danielle get married. We met up with Eric and his crew and kids had a fantastic time. Everything was closed on Friday at about 2 pm because all had evacuated except us and the wedding party. :) It poured all night but Saturday was great, went to the aquarium, around the old part of town, the battery with cannons, saw the market, trolley, Ft Sumter... Short trip, but nice to visit and see family.

Nashville Weekend

We headed up to nearby Nashville, Tn for a fun weekend at the zoo and science center.

Kids had fun in pool, on giant playground, spotting animals, experiments and checking out the space exhibits. It is a great science museum with a 5 story tower.

School Begins

The last day of freedom found Joe and Anastasia picking blueberries in the backyard.

The next day, we headed to school. It started early here- 5 Aug 08. Joe is in Kindergarten and loves it. He rides the bus home and thinks that is pretty cool.
