Women's semi finals

I was so excited to land tickets to Wimbledon. http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/index.html
After some disappointment, I was finally going!! I felt like a kid at Christmas. The entire atmosphere was incredible.
I met up with Jamil, a uni friend, at Southfields station where the adventure began. Along our walk, we scored free samples- strawberries from Asda, donuts from Krispy Kreme, those being the most tasty. It was cool. We saw the park where they camped out for tickets- poor people, and then we arrived!
We were escorted to the ticket office, given our tickets to the THIRD row of the Centre court! Wow! There were loads of people viewing practice games, children's games, warm up games, watching the big screen on the park lawn, buying souvenirs, awaiting the outcome of a match, and me-- just soaking it all in.
We soaked up the atmosphere and headed to one of the outer courts to see the men's doubles. We saw:
Gentlemen's Invitation Doubles
Donald Johnson(USA) /
Jared Palmer(USA)
def. Goran Ivanisevic(CRO) /
Cedric Pioline(FRA)
6-7(4) 7-6(3) 1-0(5)
They were having a really good time. The American's were a few minutes late and the other team was making fun of them. They were bantering back and forth and you could hear it. Low stress and fun.
After a bit, we headed to our seats, did I mention that we were center court, third row?? We had a long day and may have met our quota for the year, but it was great fun. We were able to see some big named players and even sat behind Vera's family. I know because I asked! Will have to brush up on my East bloc languages, but they were cheering for Vera.

Ladies' Invitation Doubles

It was funny, after the second ladies match- Serena and Petra, all the photographers, headed out. However, atthe end, when Martina Hingis and Anna Kournikova played doubles, they all mysteriously returned. Hmm.
